Accomplishments:
Collected and sent 60 pairs of used eye glasses to needing eyes via Canadian Federation for World Development
Created a bulletin board at front of school with school’s last year service projects
Created and distributed a list of global days to all staff
For World Food Day, our school collected 1212 items. The class that brought in the most won a chocolate cake. Teacher Lynn Neumann delivered the food items for us.
From recycling proceeds we sent $71 to Adopt a Gorilla, $31 to CNIB, $25 to World Wildlife Federation, $12 to Help the Aged
Brought in 4 Unicef videos for the school prior to Halloween
Made wreath with the Parent Association for Festival Of Trees, a big decorated tree and Christmas item event to raise funds for the Hospital
Donated 300 items to our local women's shelter, Unity house
Donated $126 to CODE from our annual used book sale (books 25 cents each!)
Made and sold beadie buddies and donated $80 to Canadian Red Cross for Earthquake in India relief
Celebrated Anti-Racism Day by distributing bilingual stickers and posters, and with our annual face painting-racism exercise
Viewed Kitty Cochrane's trip to Brazil via the website she helped make
Used
$34 from recycling to buy 15 Safeway reusable bags for club members
as a year end gift

Other school projects:
Teacher Charlie Schrama coordinated our annual Terry Fox Walk, raising $300 for Cancer Research
The staff raised $1,000 for United Way staff through lunches and an auction
The Marcellus family coordinated the Unicef boxes for Halloween for our school, and we raised $1230
French Grade 7/8 went Christmas carolling with seniors.
Librarian Carol Desilets coordinated Loonies for Literacy and Books for Santa’s Anonymous
Kitty Cochrane's 3K class brought in Unity House (women and children's shelter) donations.
Lynn Newman’s grade 2/3 class, Laura Dussault’s grade 4 class, Grade 7/8 French, and Carol Marcellus’ grade 6 class brought in donations for Operation Christmas Box.
Sean Horan in French Kindergarten donated his own money to Red Cross India Earthquake relief
Kitty Cochrane's 3K class donated recycling funds to Pueblito, Zoocheck and CPAR
Lynn Newmann’s 2/3 class donated recycling funds to Santa’s Anonymous
Mrs. Marcellus and 6K collected items for the Food Bank for Christmas
The Parent Association held their annual Christmas Bazaar and donated $700 in proceeds to Santa’s Anonymous and the Food Bank
Teacher Graca Hollett did recycling with the 2/3 French class, and they donated $32 to Children’s Wish Foundation
