Global
Club Fund Raising
$30 each for CNIB and CODE for books for children, through our Used Book Sale
2000 Food Bank Items for World Food Day. The Global Club also did a food game discussing what we can do to help stop hunger.
$50 to World Wildlife Foundation from recycling to help endangered animals.
$50 for endangered marmots from recycling
$65 from a chip sale before Christmas, for 20 gift bags for children in the hospital at Christmas. The nurses said "The gifts you brought have brightened their day, especially during this holiday season."
$150 from an Easter Raffle for Ducks Unlimited.
$150 for the S.P.C.A.

Other Global Club Activities
We sent a box of 50 used eyeglasses to be matched with needing eyes in developing countries.
Learned about Ramadan and Islam.
Learned about Fair Trade chocolate.
5 students went to Sustainable Communities Forum and learned about our environment and what we can do to help it.
We won a worm composting bucket.
Anti-Racism day - face painting and door decorating competition.
The Global Club wrote a letter to the Mayor voicing concern about homelessness in Fort McMurray.
We had a presentation from Jay Morrison who was canoeing
from the Atlantic Ocean to the Arctic Ocean. He stopped on his trip to talk to
our club and 4 classes about Canadian history and environmental concerns. It's
amazing when you're traveling by river how many factories and their pollutants
that you see.

$30,056.20 for Heart and Stroke Foundation through Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart with Mrs. Doblanko and Mrs. Clarke coordinating. WOW! We were the top school in Canada.
$300 collecting milk jugs for the David Suzuki Foundation, with Mrs. Doblanko jumping on jugs.
$1000 for the Fire Relief Fund for survivors of a local apartment fire.
$2100 for the Little family, whose 4 year old boy was hurt.
$80 by Ms Cochrane's 3K for Oxfam through an
African Market. They brought in exotic fruits and veggies and transformed their
room into a market with cloths, baskets, vivid colours and enthusiastic
haggling.
Staff had a dynamic teamed involved in the Walk for the Cancer Cure
Other Caring School Activities
Crib: "Caring Reaches Innocent Babies" Our whole school donated 2 cribs and baby items to Unity House.
3K picked up garbage on the schoolyard every day at recess in the fall.
4K filled shoeboxes with items for kids in other countries through Operation Christmas Child
